Drogheda Grammar School Policy on Student Planner & Diary

The Student Planner & Diary is a very useful aid to study, organisation and information. Furthermore, it can be used as a means of communication between parents and teachers. In some instances, it may be used to monitor student work and behaviour (Comment Forms).
For these reasons, students should always bring their planners to school and they should also be brought home for parents to inspect. In view of the Student Planner's importance the following measures will apply if a student fails to produce one upon request.

1 If a planner is lost or very badly damaged, the student must purchase a new one € 10.
2 Where students fail to bring planners to class, teachers should notify Year Heads. If this is a recurring problem, parents will be contacted and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.
3 In situations where the student Planner and Diary is lost, mislaid or unavailable for inspection on two or more occasions while the student is on a Comment Form, a suspension of two days will be applied.
